On Tuesday, December 17th from 3 to 5 pm stop by and make a Wax Paper Lantern as a beautiful decoration for the holidays. All ages will enjoy this program; however an iron will be in use, so young children will need supervision. Using wax paper, crayons, and popsicle sticks, you can add some colorful light to any room. Do you want to get exercise, but don't want to walk in hot and humid weather? Join us each Wednesday morning to walk through the book stacks, in a level, climate-controlled walking maze 9-10 am. On Thursday, December 19, at 5:30 p.m., five teams of four to five people ages 14+ will compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle. The team that completes the puzzle first or gets the farthest before 6:55 p.m. wins a prize. Registration is required by calling 740-373-1057.

On Fridays at 10:30 am, kids ages 3 to 5 and their grown-ups are invited to join us for a fun and educational introduction to the alphabet & the world around them. The Barlow Library will put together a Rube Goldberg Competition team that is available and suitable for grades 2 and above. Join the team to help us design an RBG machine to "feed a pet". Our 1st meeting will be on Friday, Dec. 20, 3-4 pm for discussion and brainstorming. We will meet again on Friday, Dec. 27th to construct our machine. Our final meeting will be Friday, Jan. 3rd to film the machine in operation to submit to the online contest.
